A Bury Court Barn Wedding
Daniel & Gemma got married at the beautiful Bury Court Barn in Surrey in September 2023, The booked our Preparations, Standard Package and Dancefloor option with the full documentary edit. What great coverage for what was an amazing wedding!
How it all began
Gemma told us, “Dan proposed in New York after we had been together for 6 years. Straight after our engagement covid happened so we didn’t end up getting married for another 4 years which was the same week as our 10 year anniversary”.
Dan & Gemma knew that they wanted a barn style wedding. Gemma picked sage green as the colour scheme as she wanted something quite neutral. She had 8 bridesmaids and she let them all choose their own sage green dresses.
Gemma told us, “I knew I wanted to have a wedding videographer as a memory to look back on and that I would probably miss parts of the day so it was nice to be able to watch it all back”.
The Morning
Gemma & Daniel’s day was all about fun and celebration. You could tell that they had lots of friends and wanted to be with them all as they tied the knot.
Gemma told us that she felt surprisingly calm the morning of the wedding as she knew she had done everything she could with regards to planning. She was looking forward to seeing everything come together. Dan was definitely nervous but that was probably more for his speech than anything else!
“Revealing my wedding dress to my bridesmaids was a memorable moment.” Gemma told us.
Gemma walked down the aisle with her Grandad and Mum.
Inspiration
Gemma got her dress from Brides of Southampton, shoes from Steve Madden and Dan’s suit was from Hackett.
Flowers were by Flowers by Jamie. The bride chose a pretty but understated bouquet and the bridal party had gypsophilia. Gemma told us, ” I had followed the florist on Instagram for a while as she did wreath making workshops etc. I then found out she was friends with Pippa our photographer!”
The couple wanted a vegan wedding cake and it was the one job that Gemma gave him, I think he did a great job!
The couple booked Julian James Magician to entertain the guests and he certainly did that! Gemma saw him on Instagram and decided to book him. They would really recommend this as it meant people had something to do whilst waiting for the wedding breakfast.
Guests mingled in the sun at the Bury Court Barn wedding sipping on cocktails and Aperol spritz, then offered a shot of tequila before they went into the wedding breakfast room.
“A memorable moment for us was after the ceremony where we had to wait for everyone to go outside ready to throw confetti was nice as it was just the 2 of us straight after we had become husband and wife.” Gemma said.
Photography was by Pippa Volans Photography, a super fun photographer with loads of cool on-trend ideas! Check out this champagne spray!!!
For the food, the couple told us, “We wanted to go for something safe so went for a simple roast dinner. Bark ‘n’ render were a supplier bury court recommended and they were excellent”.
Wedding Video Highlights
Gemma told us that one of the best bits of her wedding film was the dancefloor montage – it was the best fun to film! She also said, “I’m so glad we had a wedding videographer and I’m so glad we booked Anneka, I love our video and have watched it about 50 times!”
Finally, a top tip from our lovely bride, “The day as about you two! Don’t listen to too many other opinions do what you both want.”
We love being a Bury Court Barn Wedding Videographer so if you’re planning your big day there soon, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
