Wotton House Wedding Videographer
Ryan & Sophie booked us to film their wedding at Wotton House in the heart of the Surrey Hills, not far from Dorking in August 2023. They booked our Intimate Package which is 2 hours only of their wedding day. This meant that we started about 45mins before the ceremony and finished shortly after the ceremony.
The Proposal
We asked Sophie about how Ryan proposed and she said, “It was the evening after bringing our daughter home from the hospital. She was asleep on my chest and we were talking about her birth. When Ryan stood up and kneeled infront of me and asked me to marry him.” – so sweet
Visions & Ideas
The couple had a vision of having their wedding being outside in the sunshine in the Italian gardens at Wotton House surrounded by sunflowers. Unfortunately, it rained on the day so they had to have it inside, but that didn’t stop it being a gorgeous day.
We asked Sophie & Ryan if there were any memorable moments from the day and they told us, “I think our writing our own vows were so special and made our ceremony feel so personal to us and our guests”
They decided to book a Wotton House Wedding Videographer because “We wanted to be able to see our guests in action and also watch our ceremony back.”
Sophie told us, “Our photographer was Caven Alexander Photography. We had seen his work through Instagram and loved his style of photography. We knew after our call with him that he was definitely who we wanted, he was really friendly and seemed so chilled but very talented which is the vibe we wanted for our day.”
We worked alongside Cav really well and became a good team!
The Morning
Sophie & Ryan wanted their mornings to be as chilled as possible and they wanted to remain calm, which they achieved! The nerves only crept in around 10/15 mins before which is totally natural!
Sophie’s dress was from Boo Bridal and her shoes were from Monsoon. She looked elegant in her fitted dress, with the close watch of her gorgeous daughter! Ryan wore a black Tuxedo.
Inspiration
The flowers were supplied and arranged by Moutan Flowers. Sunflowers are Sophie’s favourite flowers. They wanted the day to have a classic and modern feel wth black and white stationary and candles. Then filled with the bright sunflowers to bring the sunshine indoors.
Ryan & Sophie had Bryan Edery Music play the piano for our ceremony and reception. They had heard him play at an open day at Wotton House and knew they wanted him for their day, he is so talented and can play any song you wish.
The Wedding Film
Sophie told us, “We loved seeing the ceremony and seeing our little girl walk down the aisle for the first time was amazing! We loved hearing the readings and vows all over again”
“I think it’s important to have a wedding videographer as it’s so special to watch your day back. The day goes by so quickly and can feel like you’re in a bit of a daze so watching it back and getting to see the bits you might have missed was just so special.”
Wedding Day Advice
Sophie & Ryan said, “Don’t try to do everything at once. Make a month by month list of things you want to tick off and tackle it all that way to take away the stress.”
