Frequently Asked Wedding Videographer Questions
Here are just a few of the frequently asked questions we get, if we’ve missed yours, please contact us here.
DO YOU HAVE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE?
CAN I HAVE MY FILM ONLINE?
HOW LONG WILL MY FILM BE?
As we treat every wedding differently the length varies and often depends on how long your ceremony and speeches are, the coverage you choose and edit style.
More information regarding the edit styles can be found on our blog.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
We use state of the art cinema cameras which are small and compact meaning that we don’t turn up to your wedding day with bulky equipment, taking over and making your wedding day into a film set. We predominantly use a monopod throughout the day for steadiness and a lightweight tripod for the ceremony and speeches.
We also use very small discreet audio recorders to ensure great sound.
DO YOU PROVIDE THE RAW FOOTAGE?
Most of our work is spent in the edit suite, meticulously cutting each clip so it flows just right. We are also strong believers that by seeing the uncut footage it would ruin the magic of your film.
However we will provide the raw footage at an extra fee.
HOW DO YOU DELIVER OUR FILM?
Your film will come as a downloadable mp4 link. This is easily shared with friends and family. It means that your film is much more future-proof than a DVD. We recommend that you make as many copies as possible on USB’s, the cloud and devices.
DO I NEED A LICENSE?
Some churches require you to purchase a license, if they ask for this you will directed to the PPL-PRS website.
Some churches may also charge an additional fee at their own discretion.
WILL I NEED WEDDING INSURANCE?
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE ILL ON THE DAY OF OUR WEDDING?
We have a small team of videographers that can be on hand in the worst case scenario. We also have a close relationship with a handful of other wedding videographers so there is always the option to call on them if need be. However, we always recommend that you take out wedding insurance.
DO YOU FILM OUTSIDE OF KENT AND SURREY?
We will film wherever the job takes us! If you are getting married in London, Essex, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire or any other counties in the UK or even abroad, contact us for more information.
DO YOU FILM SAME-SEX WEDDINGS?
Of course we can, we have filmed many LGBTQ weddings over the years and like to treat every wedding in a unique way.
DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
We can’t ‘hold’ dates and there is a non-refundable booking fee of £200.00 which is payable at the time of booking.
WHEN DO I HAVE TO MAKE THE FINAL PAYMENT?
The balance is due 28 days prior to the wedding date.
We accept payment by BACS.
HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?
You can complete the enquiry form, or we can arrange a chat on the phone or just by email. Couples often ask ‘what should I talk about with my videographer?’ or ‘how do I interview a videographer?’, so feel free to write a list of questions to ask us but we will go over all of the general information that you will need to know.
Do you need to visit my wedding venue before the big day?
Do you film any other events?
We film a variety of celebrations such as barmitzvahs, birthday parties etc. We also film funerals and memorials, visit www.finalfarewellfilms.co.uk for more information.
Do we have a meeting before the big day?
We aren’t sure of our budget, could you give us some more information on your wedding videography prices?
Couples will often ask ‘is a wedding video worth it?’ or ‘how much should you spend on videography for a wedding?’ – statistics show that it’s often a couple’s biggest regret after their wedding if they choose not to have their wedding filmed, so try to see a wedding film as an investment for the future.
But what is a good budget for a videographer? We realise that every wedding is different so if you want to extend or amend our packages just let us know and we can tailor it to suit your requirements.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE THE FILM?
It’s roughly 8-10 weeks maximum after your wedding day. In our quieter periods this timescale will be less.
If you’re choosing your own music to use in the edit it’s 8-10 weeks on receipt of your song choices or wedding day, whichever comes latest.
Should you need a quicker turnaround, we do offer a fast track edit option. Contact us to discuss this.
