During the Bluewater 2013 Wedding Fair we held a one off amazing competition for a couple of win their wedding film. We had stacks of entries and randomly picked out a name from the hat and out popped Lacey + Mike’s name. I excitedly called them wanting to break the news but kept getting their answerphone! Eventually Mike phoned me back and they were pretty overwhelmed saying they’d never won anything before.
So fast forward 12 months to 7th March 2014 and it was Mike + Lacey’s big day. They chose to get married in the beautiful Chilston Park Hotel and it was a beautiful sunny day to make a cinematic wedding film. We were thrilled to find out that Kerry–Ann Duffy was photographing the day as we’d heard so much about her work but never actually have the privilege of working alongside her until today.
We got some great shots outside the venue then went upstairs to see Lacey having her make-up done, and using our tracking equipment and long lenses we got lots of nice shots in the room. Not to forget her amazing Jenny Packham dress and Jimmy Choos!
We went to see Mike who was quite nervous as he opened his present from Lacey, a new watch. Shortly after, the guests began arriving so we captured lots of mingling and welcoming shots, the bits that Lacey wouldn’t get to see.
Back upstairs in the bridal suit we got some lovely shots of Lacey’s final preparations along with her Dad’s reactions to seeing her all ready to get married. There were a few tears but she really did look glamorous! We were all set up to film the ceremony and Mike was eagerly awaiting Lacey’s arrival at the front, and as she walked down the aisle he couldn’t take his eyes off her. Throughout their vows he was in awe of Lacey and she looked pretty amazed at how Mike looked too.
The had some photos outside with lots of champagne, canapés and mingling. In between we slipped off for 10 minutes to get some shots of the wedding breakfast room, full of whites and golds this room was nearly as glam looking as the bride!
During dinner they had fantastic piano player and singer that had the whole room singing and laughing along which split up the wait between courses. We were onto the speeches was a mixture of sentimental and humorous.
I couldn’t wait to send the highlights montage to Mike and Lacey, they were really happy and shortly after they received their wedding film in the post.
