A Falconhurst Estate Wedding

As a wedding videographer Kent couples trust, I’m lucky enough to film weddings that are full of personality, colour and genuine joy – and Ben & Lydia’s Falconhurst Estate wedding was exactly that.

Their day was a celebration of the outdoors, the countryside, and the people they love most. From a heartfelt church ceremony to a relaxed drinks reception surrounded by rolling Kent countryside, this wedding was a joy to capture from start to finish.

A Sunset Proposal in Crete

Ben proposed to Lydia while they were on holiday in Crete, after a day spent snorkelling and enjoying a boat trip along the coast. As the sun began to set, he popped the question on their hotel room balcony before they headed out for dinner – a beautifully simple and romantic moment that set the tone for the wedding to come.

Their Wedding Day at Falconhurst Estate

Ben & Lydia married on 17th August 2024 and chose to celebrate their Falconhurst Estate wedding at this beautiful Kent venue. Nestled in the Kent countryside, it was the perfect backdrop for a couple who love the outdoors and wanted their day to feel relaxed, colourful and full of life.

Their vision was clear: as much colour, flowers and fun as possible. That vision carried through every detail, from the florals to the fashion, and created a day that felt completely “them”.

Morning Excitement & Thoughtful Styling

The morning of the wedding was filled with excitement – the kind of nervous, happy energy that makes filming those early moments so special.

Lydia wore a stunning dress by Caroline Castigliano, found at their London boutique, paired with elegant Emmy London shoes on recommendation. Ben opted for classic morning dress from Ede & Ravenscroft, with shoes by Crockett & Jones, creating a timeless, polished look.

The flowers were designed by Suzanne at The Flowersmiths, with the brief being simple: as many colours as possible. The result was vibrant, joyful and perfectly suited to a summer wedding in Kent.

A Ceremony to Remember

One of Ben & Lydia’s most memorable moments was walking back down the aisle and through the confetti throw outside the church, a moment bursting with laughter, colour and emotion. It’s moments like this that couples often tell me they’re most grateful to have captured on film.

Entertainment, Food & Personal Touches

The drinks reception was filled with music and entertainment, giving guests plenty to enjoy while mingling in the sunshine. A harpist, string quartet and later a band ensured the day flowed beautifully from one part to the next.

Food was provided by Touchays, who created a bespoke menu based on the couple’s favourite dishes – another example of how personal their day felt. The cake, by Newington Cakes, was traditional in style but finished with flowers to tie in with the overall look of the wedding.

Why Ben & Lydia Chose Wedding Videography

Ben & Lydia chose to have their wedding filmed so they could watch it back on each anniversary, and also so elderly family members who were unable to attend could still feel part of the day.

Like many couples, they were slightly tentative at first – but afterwards told me that watching their wedding film together has become their favourite post-wedding activity. Hearing that is exactly why I do what I do as a wedding videographer in Kent.

Bespoke Wedding Video Coverage

Ben & Lydia booked 4 hours of bespoke wedding video coverage, from their ceremony through to when they were seated for their wedding breakfast.

I treat every wedding individually because no two weddings are ever the same. Whether a couple wants a few hours of coverage or something more extensive, I’m always happy to be flexible with wedding video prices and packages to make sure the coverage truly fits the day, not the other way around.

What They Loved Most About Their Wedding Film

Their favourite parts of the film were seeing their guests enjoying themselves during the drinks reception, and reliving the incredible colours of the dresses, flowers and surroundings. These are the details that often blur on the day, but come back to life through film.

Advice for Couples Planning Their Wedding

Their advice to couples just starting out with wedding planning?

“Front-load your planning so the final month before the wedding isn’t too stressful.”

Wise words – and ones I see pay off time and time again.
