Garden Grooves & Dancing Shoes
An outdoor summer wedding video
Michael + Tors got hitched in a beautiful church in Market Bosworth in July 2023. The reception was at the brides parents house for what was to be one hell of a party! It was to be a large affair with up to 200 guests.
Wedding Video Coverage
Michael + Tors chose our Standard Package and dancefloor montage. They decided against having the preparations covered as Tors knew she would feel quite nervous in the morning, the house would be quite busy and full so it was agreed that coverage should begin at the church to capture Michael and the guests arriving. We filmed throughout the day (only stopping for 5mins to quickly eat some food at 7.30pm!) and got back to it as not to miss any of the celebrations.
We were able to capture the church with guests arriving, including Michael’s Nan who was very happy to be there.
Tors arrived at the church in her Mum’s vintage MG sports car, she felt very privileged as it was only brought out on special occasions!
Ideas, Themes + Decor
The couple had chosen a very English country garden style theme with delicate pastels and glassware for their outdoor summer wedding video. The flowers were an ecclentic mix of delpinium, sweet pea, foxglove and cornflower, with a flower arch outside the church, the marquee and in the reception area over a wooden seat so guests could relax and smell the beautiful scents. The marquee was decorated with floating oversized balloons guiding guests to the correct table name.
The bridesmaids wore a delicate pastel blue, all varying in styles and the men wore traditional morning suits.
Tors’ Mum and her friends very kindly helped out on the organisation of the wedding due to the couple living and working in London with demanding jobs. They even found the time to make some very special homemade damson gin.
GourmetPopUp were the caterers at the wedding and they were a really amazing team who went above and beyond! Plus their food was amazing.
Entertainment
Guests were suitably entertained by Erioluwa Adeola on the Saxophone, even throughout the day during their wedding breakfast whilst they sipped champagne from vintage flutes.
The Evening
After a busy afternoon of mingling, photos (by the talented Amy Sanders Photography), eating, and an array of speeches, the evening kicked off with the cake cutting, then the couples funky first dance. To keep the party going the couple had hired 29 Fingers Band – highly recommended for a party to be remembered! Everyone enjoyed it when they even came with dressing up props!
Our advice as wedding videographers
We absolutely love filming outdoor summer weddings, they’re action packed but very hard work for all suppliers as there’s often alot to cover, especially with a large number of guests. So if you’re planning an outdoor ceremony in 2024 or 2025 here are some considerations:
- Consider an ‘on the day’ wedding planner to ensure that all of the stress is taken out of the hands of your family/ friends
- Have a printed timeline/ board on display to let guests know whats happening and when
- If you have a large number of speeches, make sure the caterers know when they will be taking place so they can plan adequately. Also, don’t forget to let your photographer and wedding videographer know too, including any last minute changes to the itinerary!
- Consider budgeting for two videographers to ensure maximum coverage especially when there are multiple locations
