Chilston Park Wedding Videos
Anthony + Cassie got married at Detling Church and Chilston Park Hotel in Kent last year. We really enjoyed filming their wedding day and couldn’t wait to blog their film. We asked Cassie a few questions…
Why did you choose to have a wedding film?
The main reason for having a wedding film for us was to be able to capture every moment of our special day so that we could relive it in our minds over and over again.
As nearly everyone in the lead up to our wedding advised us, take the time to have time together so you can absorb the day; a video perfectly compliments this as you also get to see parts of the day you are not always physically around for.
We now have something that presents us with memories of our nearest and dearest that will last with us for a lifetime.
Who was your photographer on the day?
Fiona Kelly from Fiona’s Wedding Photography covered the day and we love our photos!
Where did you get your dress?
My wedding dress was a Rosa Clara. I had seen a Rosa Clara dress in a magazine and the hunt began, the problem was I couldn’t find the dress in any shop! I finally managed to track the dress down and it ended up with a trip to Chester with my mum.
When I finally got to see the dress in person it didn’t live up to my expectations, it just didn’t have the wow factor. The ladies in the shop pulled another Rosa Clara dress out and suggested that I tried it on, I originally had skimmed over this dress as it was a tighter unlike the big princess skirt that i wanted, however I had failed to notice it had a detachable skirt which made it into the princess dress I wanted. Two dresses in one!
I came home and ordered the dress in Hitched Bridal, Chislehurst.
How did you choose your venue and inspiration for the wedding?
We wanted a venue that we had both never visited before, yet keeping close to home so that nobody would be discounted from attending.
A traditional and classic wedding was our main inspiration so that everything would be timeless in years to come.
Even though wanting to keep it traditional, we added a bit of glamour with sequin dresses for our bridesmaids.
Who was the fantastic cake maker?
Rebecca Scullard from Rebakers. We wanted a floral cake changing our mind with only a few weeks to go from a cascade of flowers to flowers surrounding each tier; again, a traditional cake.
Who provided the food?
The food was provided by Chilston Park Hotel where we visited, along with our parents to participate in a food tasting evening, even staying at the venue to make sure we took every opportunity to sample the wine!!
Our guests had a 3 choice option for each course, so we made sure to vary each meal so that all attendees would be well catered for; in fact, it was a very even spread of selection across each option.
What entertainment did you choose?
We had some singing waiters (The Best Singing Waiters) which whilst somewhat hesitant closer to the day on whether we had made the right choice; they truly made the occasion so memorable and didn’t disappoint at all!
The atmosphere within the wedding breakfast was truly amazing seeing everyone up and dancing for over 30 minutes; whilst also keeping in touch with the emotions of a wedding day. Further to this, they sang a rat pack selection for our evening guest arrival, in touch with the traditional and classy feel.
For our evening entertainment, we had Groove Environment, a Motown and uptown funk band. They were quite simply one of the best bands we have seen and the dance floor didn’t empty, a sign of how good they were at keeping the night going.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We started with Part I, a ‘mini-moon’ to Rome staying at the wonderful Waldorf Astoria in the hills of the city for 4 nights, with beautiful and romantic views away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Some 6 weeks later we then embarked on Part II, the real honeymoon and went on a west coast tour of the US.
Our venture took us to San Francisco, Yosemite, Monterey, Carmel by the Sea, Pismo Beach, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and a final stop, New York City. This trip was not one to forget and we most certainly didn’t want it to finish!
