Upwaltham Barns Wedding Videographer

Charissa first contacted us in 2015 enquiring about filming her wedding the following year at Upwaltham barns in Chichester. We really love filming at this venue as the staff are so efficient and friendly, not to mention the beautiful barns and surrounding landscape. Needless to say, Charissa booked and the wedding day soon arrived!

Charissa and Jon chose our standard package which covers everything from guests arriving until the first dance, so we were ready and filming before the ceremony getting shots of a nervous (but excited looking!) Jon with his ushers and friends.

Charissa and Jon had booked Lucy Woodrow as her photographer on the day, who was very relaxed and unobtrusive. We worked alongside each other very well.

Blues, lilacs, greys and a hint of pink was the palette for the wedding, and Charissa’s Mum made a 60 metre length of bunting using these colours! Five of the bridesmaids were in mismatched coloured dresses that they’d picked themselves and the flowers that were by Kerry Pullen at Rose Cottage Flowers really brought the colour scheme together.

Charissa walked down the aisle in her Kitty Chen dress (from Azure Bridal Gallery in Hampton) to the Jurassic Park theme tune played by the Blond Quartet. They also played Star Wars, ET and Indiana Jones (just to name a few) which was pretty different but worked so well!

Being a rustic and beautiful venue, Upwaltham barns doesn’t need much decoration but Charissa and Jon added their personal touches with wood slices, jam jars, a giant Scrabble board and photo props for their guests to enjoy.

Charissa told us afterwards that they chose to have a wedding video to remember every detail, and they felt that there are moments photos just can’t capture – like the speeches, walking down the aisle, the vows, the music and the general party atmosphere. Charissa is a TV Producer and was quite excited by the idea of being in front of the camera and not behind it! She also believes that some people choose not to have a videographer due to the added expense of a photographer, but they saw the two as being equally important.

Here are their wedding day highlights….
