Hendall Manor Barn Wedding Video
EJ + Harriet got married at the beautiful Hendall Manor Barns in East Sussex last July. We are one of their preferred suppliers and enjoy filming there very much as Nicola and her staff are always super efficient on the day!
We asked Harriet a few questions about their wedding…
What were the main reasons for choosing to have a wedding film?
I’ve got really fond memories of watching my parents wedding film, it’s so special and really showed me how nice it is to have those memories captured. Everyone kept saying to us as well that the day goes so quickly and “make sure you take it all in.” We thought if we have a video it means we can’t miss any of those moments and it’ll always be there to re-live!
Who was your photographer?
My brother, Max Jowitt. He’s a photographer but this was his first (and maybe last :D) wedding. He did an amazing job, his photos are so natural and relaxed, no cheasey-ness!! Anneka worked really well alongside him, I felt like she had really similar taste and the photos & film definitely compliment each other.
Who made your wedding dress and where did you find it?
My wedding dress was byNeedle & Thread. I actually bought it online which I was a bit terrified to do but you can only shop their bridal range online. Martine At Miss Kay Seamstress in Tunbridge Wells did a fantastic job making a few small alterations that were needed, and she made my veil to match my dress too.
Where did you find your wedding shoes?
My shoes were by Sophia Webster. I always wanted wedding shoes by her as they have the “Wifey for Life” blue soles. I bought them at her boutique in London.
Where did your wedding inspiration come from and how did you choose the colours and theme?
It started really with the dress, as it faded to blush pink at the bottom. I used this shade of blush pink throughout the colour scheme. Also, EJ bought me a rose gold & emerald engagement ring so all the metallic details on the save the dates, seating plan etc.. were in rose gold to reference this. I’m a graphic designer so I was kind of in my element designing my wedding stationary and details! (And EJ was a very accommodating groom and let me get on with it, and agreed to wear a pink tie.) 🙂
Who made your cake and how did you decide how you wanted it to look?
Hollie at Hollie’s Little Cakery. She’s a super talented cake maker and has her own shop/studio in Southborough. She went to school with my brother so I was really please to support a local girl from Tunbridge Wells! Again it was all part of the blush pink and rose gold theme. I sketched out exactly how I wanted it to look and Hollie made it perfectly.
Who provided the food and how did you choose the menu?
Martin Doyle from Food for Thought was our caterer, he was recommended to us by our venue. We had a BBQ as we wanted a relaxed, casual meal. It was still a sit down meal, but the food was brought round to the tables on platters so people could take whatever they liked.
Who was your band?
The Swinging Little Big Band – they were fantastic. And my Maid of Honour was secretly in contact with them and had been practicing all along to sing our first dance which was just amazing and such a surprise.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to Italy. We did a road trip and stayed in a few different places.. Cinque Terre, Siena and a vineyard in Tuscany. It was beautiful!
