Phil & Rosanna wanted to have a romantic fairytale wedding, which is why they chose the stunning Hever Castle in Kent. We asked the lovely couple about their story…
How did Phil propose?
“He proposed at a fireworks display on bonfire night, two years after asking Rosanna to be his girlfriend at the same display!”
Did you have a vision for the wedding day?
“We wanted the typical fairy tale wedding with the most important thing being that people had fun! Also, the evening fireworks display was very important as fireworks have marked every important chapter of our life together so far.”
Do you have any stand-out memorable moments?
“The first moment we saw each other at the end of the aisle. The speeches were amazing. Dancing in the evening with each other, parents and friends was a good laugh! And of course, the fireworks!!!!”
What were the main reasons for choosing to have a wedding videographer?
“To commemorate the day so that we can watch it for years to come. Fleur Challis was our photographer on the day, it’s important to remember not just who was there that the photographs show, but how they were and how happy every one was, which is why the wedding video was just as important!”
How did you both feel on the morning of the wedding?
“Both a little nervous, but obviously no doubts! Rosanna’s getting ready was stressful and was a little late (whoops!) but it all just melted away the minute we saw each other.”
Tell us about your wedding inspiration and styling…
“We thought that our venue spoke for itself and so wanted to go for a subtle, natural and classy theme so as not to over shadow it. My sister in law, Thalia Kate Floral, did the top table arrangement for us and Emma Fuller did the bouquets and smaller arrangements.”
Who made your cake?
“We loved the naked cake style and Philip’s mum made it for us making it all the more special.”
Who provided the food?
“The food was catered for at Hever Castle and we had a tasting evening several weeks before the wedding to select from their menu.”
Did you have any entertainment during the drinks reception?
“We had a pianist to play during our drinks reception and wedding breakfast to add a little more ambiance to this time in the wedding.”
What were the best bits of your wedding film?
“We loved to see our guests arriving and interacting as we missed this part of the day! We also loved the speeches, dances and of course, the fantastic fireworks that were captured perfectly from all angles, even capturing Rosanna saying ‘wow’ at one point!!!”
Do you have any advice for couples at the start of their planning process?
“There are a lot of details to consider but try not to get too bogged down in them! People either won’t notice or it won’t matter on the day. Just enjoy every minute, if I could do it all over again being less of a control freak I definitely would!!!”
