Alex & Emily got married at the charming quintessentially British Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair, London in October 2020. Their wedding date was just before the October COVID-19 number restrictions so they were lucky to be able to have a small wedding with 30 guests. After their wedding we asked Emily a few questions about planning and the wedding day…
How Alex & Emily imagine their wedding day to be…
Alex & Emily already wanted an intimate wedding with a small number of guests, so it didn’t make much difference to them that numbers had to be restricted. They knew the Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair was perfect for them, and loved the Mayfair-chic and the British old-world charm interior.
Memorable moments for the couple
Emily told us that the whole day was completely memorable, they loved being able to walk down the street as if they were out shopping for the day. Of course, the speeches and dancing with the saxophonist was definitely a highlight!
Why Alex & Emily chose to have their wedding filmed
Alex & Emily wanted to remember the day as much as possible, after watching it they said they’d already forgotten about certain aspects that happened. They also enjoyed watching back some of the bride and grooms preparations before the wedding.

Wedding Inspiration
Alex & Emily followed the interior decor at the Chesterfield Hotel but added a 1920’s twist with Emily’s dress and Alex’s suits. They tied in the cake with an autumnal theme.
Advice from Emily for couples at the start of the wedding planning process…
“Don’t feel pressurised to have a big wedding day, the best bit about a small wedding was being able to talk to all of our guests, as it was so intimate we managed to spend time with everybody!”
